Spellings

Children are given spellings to learn every Friday from the Year 4 Curriculum. They will have a test the following Friday.

Reading

Every day, children are expected to bring their reading book and reading record into school.

Homework

Find the logins for Lexia, Letter- join and Times Tables Rockstars in your child’s reading record.

Phonics

Some children will continue to have support for phonics to help them secure the basics of fluent reading.

We will hold a termly workshop for parents to explain our learning for the term. Please attend if you are able.

Multiplication

Government expectation is that by the end of Year 4, all children to know their multiplication facts up to 12x12.

Year 4 children will take the government’s national times table test during the summer term.

Children will be practising times tables in school each week but support from home is greatly appreciated

Complete a times tables grid and put it up somewhere in your house so that you can look at it regularly.
